Cyber insurance readiness
Insurers now ask detailed questions about MFA, backups, patching and email security. We check what is really in place, fix the gaps before renewal and give you evidence you can stand behind.
How do I get ready for a cyber insurance application or renewal?
Go through the insurer questionnaire before renewal, verify each control is in place (especially MFA, patching, tested offline backups, email security, endpoint protection, training and an incident response plan), fix gaps, and keep evidence. Inaccurate answers can give an insurer grounds to reduce or decline a claim.
Why cyber insurance matters, and why it is harder to get
A serious incident can bring forensic costs, legal fees, notification costs, business interruption and liability claims. Cyber insurance can cover much of that and often gives you access to expert responders.
But insurers have tightened up. Premiums, cover and even eligibility now depend on the controls you can show. Answering the questionnaire honestly, with evidence, protects both your premium and your claim.
Controls insurers commonly ask about
- MFA on email, remote access and admin accounts
- Timely patching of systems and software
- Offline or immutable backups, tested
- Endpoint detection and response
- Email filtering and DMARC
- Staff phishing awareness training
- An incident response plan

What good cyber insurance gives you
Financial protection
Forensics, legal costs, system restoration, notification costs and business interruption losses.
Expert response support

Better security habits
Insurer requirements push organisations to adopt MFA, backups and training, which reduces the chance of a claim.
// FAQ
Common questions
What security controls do cyber insurers usually ask about?
Most questionnaires ask about multi-factor authentication (especially for email and remote access), patching, backups kept offline or immutable, endpoint protection, email security, staff training, admin privileges and whether you have an incident response plan.
What happens if our questionnaire answers are wrong?
Inaccurate answers can give an insurer grounds to reduce or decline a claim. That is why we check what is in place before you answer, and fix gaps before renewal.
Does insurance replace security?
No. Insurance helps with the financial fallout of an incident, such as response costs, business interruption and liability. It does not prevent the incident, and insurers increasingly require good security before they will cover you.
Can you help after a claim?
Yes. We can work alongside your insurer's appointed responders and help you recover and harden your systems afterwards.
